Palo Alto, CA (January 15, 2019) -- Knowledgette, an online learning platform specializing in bite-sized video lectures for the oil and gas industry, and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) have partnered to deliver even more learning resources to individuals in the oil and gas industry.

“Ongoing education for professionals in the oil and gas industry suffers from three major flaws: they are too long, they have substantial costs, and they are not tailored to the individual learner,” explains Dr. Shipeng Fu, Knowledgette’s Founder and CEO. “That is where Knowledgette comes in. We work with our content and membership partners to create and offer courses that are broken down into smaller pieces and easy to navigate, enabling professionals to start at the most appropriate point in a lecture for themselves, follow an individualized path through the topics they need, and conduct their training in small bites at the most relevant and convenient time given their schedule.”

The partnership will bring even more content to Knowledgette’s existing user base as SEG courses will be recreated in Knowledgette’s easy to digest style and added to Knowledgette’s existing library of courses taught by leading industry professionals.

“I am excited for our partnership with Knowlelgette. Knowledgette’s assets give SEG’s membership excellent resources in Geophysics, as well as content from AAPG and SPWLA, which will benefit their career development. Being able to learn at your own pace with access to valuable technical material through a platform focused on utilizing the most recent research on how adults learn is a huge plus for membership.” Said Dr. Tom Agnew, Associate Executive Director of Programs at SEG.

SEG joins Knowledgette’s existing partnerships with American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA), creating a unique model on the platform that enables all members from the three societies to view and learn from all of the partnership societies for free. Access to Knowledgette’s online learning platform and this impressive collection of free course material is an added benefit of SEG membership. Content shared by these three organizations span oil and gas topics and are aimed at all levels of learning in the oil and gas industry, offering great opportunities for ongoing, cross-functional learning amongst each society’s members.

Knowlegette’s partnerships with SEG and other expert organizations in the oil and gas industry are just the beginning of a broader partnership effort that will see several organizations from across the oil and gas industry come together on a single platform for shared learning. “Believe it or not, different disciplines in the oil and gas industry do not partner together in meaningful ways outside of events. I am thrilled that Knowledgette is becoming a place where individuals, membership organizations, academic institutions and others can finally come together and share a common platform for broader industry knowledge and growth,” said Dr. Fu.
